September was a whirlwind of trips. I originally had one trip planned for the end of September to Miami Florida for ASID (American Society of Interior Designers). I planned this out back in April with another colleague/friend of mine. We participated in a variety of traditional and unconventional education and networking opportunities; there were over 50 Pop-ups classes, 21 CEU sessions, 6 workshops, 3 keynote presentations, & 1 amazing party to round out the experience. The new Senate Bill 188 was signed into law by Governor Roy Cooper on July 8, 2021. What this means is Registered Interior Designers in North Carolina can stamp and seal construction documents for permit. It is a huge steppingstone for Interior Designers everywhere.

“Do I contact the contractor first? I do not know where to begin.” This powerful statement made me realize there are more “Anabell’s” out in this world wondering how and where to begin. I asked Anabell if she thinks walls will be removed and spaces will be reconfigured. “Yes,” she replied. She wants to rearrange her loft area for a master bedroom, master bathroom, walk-in closet, and maybe a studio or office space too. Plus, we cannot forget about Prairie, her adorable dog that needs space up there as well.
